Just two bros chilling under a magic apple tree.

I wanted this one to be less busy than the others, and my professor loved how peaceful it is. I love how all the details came out, and that simple blue sky helps them stand out!

So I wanted to draw little ram Schlatt and tiny slime Charlie. I've recently gotten into Slimecicle Cinematic Universe and Chuckle Sandwich, so I wanted to involve them in the Cryptid AU. Plus, look how cute they are!!! Tiny Rammie JSchlatt is just so funny to me. He's just a little guy who swears and causes problems.

But wait, there's more!

Something else we did in Drawing Class was a few BIG drawings, and these are really big let me tell you. They barely fit in my car! I decided to draw this from the Cryptid AU. I'm so happy with how Dream came out in this one.

At some point in the story, Dream snatches Tommy in order to teach him how to use his new powers. Monster Dream doesn't MEAN any harm, he's just forgotten how to human. It's like Exile Arc, but without the abuse and hopefully only half the trauma!

It's a nice day for a Ghost Wedding~!

Funny story about the next two big drawings, I speedran them during a weekend because I thought they were due a week earlier. So I come in on Monday with three giant rolls and no drawing materials. Whoops!

Good news, I had plenty of time to go deeper into the drawings, and make them even better. I'm glad I did, because now they look awesome! Juliana and her Albion look so beautiful!

VERY LARGE DRAWINGS - LEBBEUS WOODS

The impulse to make these large drawings—they are, with one exception, 74 inches high by 120 inches wide (188 by 305 centimeters)—came first from my desire to make drawings at the scale of a room, that is, at an architectural scale. The reason for this is rather simple: to see if one could physically and not only mentally inhabit the space of a drawing. The second driving force was to see if drawing at that scale would produce something different than I’d imagined or drawn before.

Joe Fenton

Joe Fenton is a London based artist that works mainly in monochrome. His large drawings are produced using graphite, ink and acrylics on paper.

Joe’s art work is influenced by many of the early surrealists. Embracing the grotesque by his employment of Hieronymus Bosch like figures that are gangly, writhing and cramped. Joe also uses motifs that suggest Eastern philosophy and Middle Eastern architecture whilst maintaining a feel for European Baroque and Rococo with complex frame ornamentation and plant like details. A common theme in all his works which recurs again and again is that of death and the fear of death. The fanciful and even freakish nature of his images seem to spring from the need to distance himself from the fear while at the same time acknowledging it.

Prior to his decision to commit full time to his personal works, Joe had two children’s books published, as author and illustrator which have won various awards. Joe has also worked for several years as a special effects sculptor and designer for motion pictures. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Sculpture from the Wimbledon Art School.
