Phengaris Arion or the large blue is a species of butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. The species was first defined in 1758 and first recorded in Britain in 1795. In 1979 the species became mostly extinct in Britain but has been successfully reintroduced with new conservation methods. This beautiful watercolor artwork was handmade by Benjamin Brockman in his studio in Tucson AZ. This is NOT a print, but the original painting of a moth on watercolor. The frame is a square shape, and would be perfect for hanging in small apartments or as a finishing accent in larger spaces. The backs are finished with paper and a Sacred Trust seal.
