Rushing into the wings, the duo find it pitch black in there, with the lights off. They flick back on, and the two notice a new difference on the stage.

Klavier's guitar case had been closed, with white fabric peeking out of it. The two open it, only to find...

Larimoir unresponsive, shut in the case. The two scream and get Ema as fast as they can, rushing Larimoir to the hospital.

July 9th 2026 Sunshine Coliseum & Prosecutor Gavin's Office

Heading back outside The Sunshine Coliseum, the duo spots Daryan moping about how he can't investigate when his alibi is solid; due to thousands of witnesses seeing him on stage. But Klavier trusts Larimoir's words, and has to lay low while he's still a suspect. He gives the others directions to Klavier's room in the prosecutor's office, and the two set out to talk with him.

The two walk in, and overhear the end of a phone call Klavier is having about the case, and asking him about the items in his office when it ends. First, his guitar, burnt to a crisp on one of his desks. He told them the results on the tests done on it are still unclear, yet intriguing. Next, they ask him about a weird multicoloured object, on a small table under a glass top. Even Klavier's unsure what it's meant to be, but he does know it's a replica of something Letouse was after while undercover, that Interpol or Borginia doesn't want to share more about; and that this replica was found in his bag.

After looking around his room, the two ask Klavier about the case, where he starts off talking about how his phone has been blowing up with inflammatory calls, and he's been getting articles written about his concert as soon as the trial finished. With news on the mind, Apollo spots a newspaper on one of Klavier's desks, one from Borginia in fact. Klavier laments about how they didn't mention the lyrics to "The Guitar's Serenade" in it.

When asked more about the song, Klavier told them that he met her a year ago, while touring Borginia's legal system. He heard her singing at a small jazz club in the country, her voice bringing him to tears. So he arranged a meeting with her, and they wrote the song backstage that night. The guitar he played during the live performance was the same one Larimoir lent him that night, which she gifted to him to perform with on stage.

It was Larimoir's personal guitar, one that she had played for many years. Due to normal air transportation making it likely to ruin the guitar, he pulled some strings to have it specially wrapped as "evidence", to get it to his office as perfect as possible.

They asked Klavier to elaborate more on what he said earlier, about something "intriguing" involving the guitar. He pointed out the hole in the front, also known as the "sound hole", and that forensics found an interesting device attached to it. Finding the discovery of another device familiar, Apollo showed him the homemade igniter that was found in Larimoir's dressing room. And with both sides giving the other useful information, they decide to stop telling each other more, and the duo heads back to The Sunshine Coliseum, where Ema spots them and asks them if they've seen Larimoir. She can't find her anywhere, and she's been asked to come to the prosecutor's office.

There will be a short delay before the trial of Machi Tobaye for the murder of Romein Letouse continues, due to The Judge having an emergency personal matter to attend to.

The Court is taking a 5 minute break for Apollo Justice to speak to Machi Tobaye. Here's what has happened so far.

The Trial began with the Judge apologizing for the delay, as he was at the hospital to see the Chief Justice and his son, who's case of Incuritis has gotten worse.

Although Larimoir's accusation was shocking, Dayan Crescend's alibi is sturdy enough that there was no need to seriously suspect him; as he was on stage with the rest of The Gavinners when the gunshots were overheard and the body was found. Due to Crescend's alibi, The Judge was ready to cast down a verdict, to which Justice Objected, asking that Tobaye come to the stand. But since he cannot speak or understand English, additionally requested that Lamiroir join him to interpret for him. Klavier Gavin agreed with the request, claiming that although his understanding of Borginian is limited, he should know enough to tell if Larimoir is lying to cover for Tobaye.

Tobaye said the killing was a shock to him, and how could he have made the murder follow the lyrics of the song if the song's lyrics were in English. Larimoir also said that although she told him the general theme of the song, she never told him the full detail of the lyrics. Justice began his cross-examination, asking Larimoir to clarify while staring intently at Tobaye, eventually calling out when he noticed that Tobaye glanced over at Larimoir when she said "in English". He said he knows the word English, but just the name of the language. Justice then asked how he even knew the crime followed the lyrics of the song, and he answered that he read it in "The Borginian Daily Bugle", which you can even buy copies of in this country. Justice Objected, pulling out the edition of the newspaper that talked about the crime, and there's no mention of the lyrics in it.

Lamiroir gasped, saying he must've learnt the lyrics from the police questioning, which Gavin refuted that the police report never mentioned the lyrics either. Justice said he must've heard that the crime followed the lyrics in this courtroom, and Tobaye claimed that Lamiroir really did tell him the lyrics. Justice asked to continue the cross-examination, and stared intently at the two as he re-listened to the testimony, and Objected to Lamiroir saying she told him the lyrics, pointing out that she swallowed nervously when saying "It was I who explained" Justice asked if she was lying to protect Tobaye, and the musical duo went quiet. Justice begged Tobaye to admit the truth, that he understands english, and he screamed.

After taking a second, Tobaye spoke to the court. He understands a bit of English, but enough to understand and speak about the case. Tobaye claimed he didn't shoot Letouse, and that he was hiding in the dressing room behind a desk, with Letouse already on the floor. He heard voices outside the dressing room, and ran away, up into the vents. Gavin took this as admittance of guilt. The defendant understood the lyrics, and admitted he was at the scene of the crime. Tobaye went quiet, and The Judge asked if any further testimony was required. Tobaye refused to continue talking, and so a recess has been called.

July 9th 2026 Detention Center, Backstage Hallway, In the Wings & Larimoir's Dressing Room

The duo went to the Detention Center to check on Machi. Although he couldn't understand what the two were saying, Apollo could still feel his bracelet react to him. The two went back to Sunshine Coliseum to look for more evidence, and found Larimoir in the hallway. They asked her again about her statement earlier, and she told them she never forgets a voice, and she heard the gunshots after hearing Daryan speaking to Letouse, but she ran away before she could hear anything more. Speaking of Letouse, she had no idea he was interpol due to how undercover he was, and she couldn't understand why he would pose as her manager. She wonders if he was investigating her, due to her mysterious past and present. They asked her about the recording Valant gave them of "The Guitar's Serenade", and she also refused to tell them how the trick was done.

She asked them about a headset, one that had been on the floor between the dressing rooms since the concert. She told them everyone on staff wears them during a concert, including the band members. She also tells them they only work about 30 feet, a stronger signal would interfere with the sound system.

After taking another look at the dressing rooms, the two went to take another look at the stage, where they met with Valant again, who was inspecting all his equipment. Trucy went to go take a look at the piano atop the stage, and they found a strange switch stuck in the piano when it made a strange sound upon the keys being pressed. Given that the piano worked perfectly fine when Machi was playing it, it was likely thrown in there after his set. The duo attempted to learn more about Valant's trick again, with Apollo concluding it must've included a secret tunnel, and Trucy thinking he must be back here to make sure the trick went well. Apollo asked for more about "Troupe Gramarye", who he had faintly seen on television years ago. Valant told them that it started 20 years ago, when Magnifi Gramarye first appeared on the magic scene, but several years ago the Troupe dissipated, no longer on television, and leaving him to perform his shows in parking lots and other small venues. But he is simply waiting until Gramarye can rise up again, for the sake of magic, and for the sake of Zak, who went missing seven years ago. Many magicians tried to become apprentices of Magnifi, but only Valant & Zak were accepted, and he hopes one day to bring back "The Gramarye Miracle." Before heading back to the dressing rooms, they take another look at the switch, wondering what exactly pressing that tempting red button would do.

Back in Larimoir's dressing room the two find Ema grumpily munching on snackoos. She tells them she found something strange under the sofa. Some sort of weird device with an antenna attached to it. Remembering the antenna on the switch the two found, Apollo presses the button on the switch, and it's revealed the device is a makeshift igniter. Ema examines it and estimates it only works about 30 feet.

July 9th 2026 5:53 PM Hickfield Clinic Waiting Room

Apollo and Trucy wait in the clinic's waiting room for nearly two hours before Ema comes in with news. News that Lamiroir was hit in the forehead, and that the duo saved her before it was too late.

Once Lamiroir can come out to the Waiting Room she does, and thanks the two for saving her. Shortly after they spoke to her in the hallway, she sensed someone nearby, They didn't say a thing, and struck her in the head when she tried to go into her dressing room. She ran to the stage, where she heard footsteps close behind. Earlier, she had heard maintenance people talking about shutting the power off in there for electrical work, so she knew if she went there she would have a chance to hide. She slipped into the guitar case, and passed out while hiding in there. When asked for any clues on who hit her, she told them she didn't hear them say a thing, but due to hitting her high on the forehead, she concluded they must've been taller than her. They proceeded to ask her about the replica Letouse had on him, in hopes she would have a clue. She recognized it as a replica of a Borginian Cocoon.

Although everyone in Borginia knows of Borginian Cocoons, few know more than if you are to take one out of the country, you will be executed. And since Letouse was carrying a replica of one of these, he was likely trying to track down a Cocoon Smuggler, and she wonders if a smuggler might have tried to sneak one out of the country whenever Lamiroir left. With this new information, Apollo and Trucy head to the detention center with Larimoir, so she can translate what Machi is saying to them.
