Niki & Jett | September 7th
@jettwilder
It had been weeks and she still hadn’t filled up her Saturday evenings. Niki was never in much of a mood to work them anyway. She had tried but cancelled pretty soon after taking the booking and moved it to a different day. It felt weak to be so caught up on someone who hadn’t spared her a second thought. Maybe that’s why she was out at a bar drinking along, again. She knew she shouldn’t drink too often, that she was a recovering addict and alcohol could be a gateway, still she found herself wanting to drown her sorrows a little.
It was around the fourth drink that she realised she recognised the voice ruining what she assumed was suppose to be old town road. Walking round so she could see if her ears were lying to her there up on the stage being boo’d by some of the audience was Jett. She stood there frozen for a second wondering if she should just leave but the way he staggered off the stage made her question leaving him alone. Concern bubbled up as she looked around to see if he was with anyone. When she came up empty Niki headed over. “I think you’ve had enough karaoke for tonight.”
