Well, helloooooo Kat! Look at me, getting all of these incredible dance partners. Who would’ve known that just putting that out there would make me so lucky?

One doesn’t just decide. Either you love it, or you don’t. I loved equations and all of that. Strange? Maybe. But I like figuring out difficult equations. This mathematician teaches little geniuses how to figure out the numbers too. That’s a stretch… they’re not all geniuses, but we can pretend.

And then I can almost promise you that none of those dance partners have anything on me. I find myself bragging about many things, but dancing is one of those things that if someone were to call me out on it I would actually be able to walk the walk.

Very sweet, that you would use your skills for others as opposed to taking advantage of it for yourself. I imagine one could do incredible things given the resources as a mathematician, resources that aren’t necessarily available in schools. Was that always what you wanted to do?

He hadn’t heard someone walk up behind him. It startled him and he quickly looked up to see Kat. His date. “Kat!” He said quickly, and the frustration on his face was replaced with a friendly smile. “What are you doing here?” He said, leaning in to give her a hug. Looking down at his computer he waved it off. “No.. just.. homework you know?” He said casually. “Has your family forgiven me for jumping into their pool like that?”

An amused chuckle left Kat when she realized she had surprised the poor soul, swinging herself around to the other side of the table and plopping down in the available seat after giving Elliot a tight squeeze. Carefully she took the cover off of her cup before swinging her leg over her knee, foot bopping to an unknown beat. She couldn’t help the roll of her eyes that came when the question was asked, already exasperated enough by the idea of being with her family in the area.

“There was some business I was required to be at, so I met the requirements and then peaced out to here in hopes of them never finding me.” Shrugging, she took a small sip of the coffee and then gazed at the computer he had looked down at as well. “Sounds lame,” was her response, brow furrowing at the thought of being in the presence of any more homework. It didn’t matter if it was hers or not, apparently, the disdain was still there. 

“Oh, I’d probably never put yourself in a position where you’re in the same room as them. Harmless, naturally, but they’ll make you uncomfortable for just existing because they never forget. Never.” A playful smirk pulled at her mouth, nose wrinkling a little as she continued, “It was impressive flip, though, I have to say. You do that often, then, hm?”

Reyna & Katerina | June 30th

Rey hadn’t expected to be spoken to. Her aim was to keep her head down so she didn’t get recognised by fans. She knew there was probably at least one person she could have called to join her but she hadn’t really spoken to anyone in a while. She was about halfway through her wine when a blonde woman asked her what was good. Making sure her wig was on properly she looked over. “Uh… there’s a good wine selection. I’m drinking white at the moment if you want to try.”

It was at the mention of wine that Kat’s lips turned down into a slight scowl, learning herself forward until she was resting on her forearms on the surface of the bar. One hand came up, cradling her chin in the palm of her hand as she stayed focused on the menu, eyes squinting in hopes of making more sense of the selection.

“God, I’m so over wine ...” Kat mumbled more to herself, taking a quick glimpse at the glass before turning back to the options. There were a few names she recognized, a couple stemming from her family’s winery, and it was in a split moment that she decided she was more interested in having company over anything else. 

“Is wine your usual choice?”

Victoria laughed and stepped to the side. “You’re free to look around, but I’m positive I’m alone here. I also think he might be across the street and a few houses down?” Her brow furrowed. “I was making tea… Would you like some while you maybe call him?” She’d been living here for nearly a year, only knowing a few of her immediate neighbors. Victoria’s naturally welcoming nature always prevailed, as did her curiosity, and she couldn’t help but notice her outfit. “You look really lovely…”

Kat craned her neck to stare down the opposite side of the road, a grimace twisting itself onto her face as she thought about having to leave the company she had found for an ancient man. If she were a good representative she would’ve bid the beautiful woman before her farewell, but the fact of the matter was, was that her father’s request flew out the window when an invite was laid out.

“Tea,” she repeated, tipping her head in thought, “I could go for tea. I’ll call him later, he can be patient.” Kat took a step in, allowing the door to be swung shut behind her as she took a moment to glance around, slipping her heels off of her feet and nudging them neatly out of the way with her foot. Finally her wandering stare landed on the stranger before her once more, unabashedly drinking her up before Kat was smirking.

“I look lovely? Oh, sweetheart, you’re being too kind. You’ve looked at yourself in a mirror, yeah?”

Not been having the best time mentally as of late so I’ve been indulging in some music therapy. I always forget how calming guitar is for me. With such a busy work life I’ve been struggling to balance things and actually take care of myself. Pretty sure i’ve just put myself last for the past how ever long i’ve been doing this. Not sure how much better I’ll get at “self care” but for the time being i’m enjoying the music.

I know it’s likely some news station is gonna see this and try and spin it into some shit about me not being fit to be in the position I am but fuck you guys. Sometimes people need to be reminded people like me have shitty days too and can come out of it.

I guess as long as it’s something you’re enjoying, and something that’s calming you down it’s fine? I’m no advocate on self-care, I’m pretty shit at it, but what can go wrong with something you’re invested in like that?

Hopefully the press isn’t too wild in their field day, I know they’re a straight pain in the ass more often than not, so sorry if you get all caught up.

My little break is coming to an end soon, in just under a week actually, and I’ll be back to zipping all over the place. What better time to join something like this than now? For introductions, I’m Demi, and I’m in the San Diego area. I’m hoping to get away this weekend. Where? I’m not sure yet. Head to Napa Valley! I got a pool that definitely needs the gorgeous company.

I havent posted in a while. Ive been trying to get out more. But in the last month or 2 I havent been up for it. Been spending most of my time back home with my mom. She still hasnt convinced me that shaving and haircuts are important in my line of work. Tell me what youve been up to. Make me look like Im social.

No harm in taking some time to yourself. Personally I find myself in spirals in which the idea of socializing is exhausting, so I find things to do on my own. More often than not it’s a trip in the literal opposite direction of my problems, but evasion is key, isn’t it? Healthy, right? Anyways.

Uh, went to London for family business, but really that’s about it? Got to see some cool things, but mostly it was the same old London.

While it was summer, Elliot was still working on things for school. Unfortunately, it never seemed to quit, even while not in classes. He had gotten the syllabus for his analytical neuropharmacology class and immediately knew he had to get started. They had a project due the first week of class. So he simply sat at a coffee shop in London, enjoying the sound of the rain on the windows as he tried to map out a preclinical workflow illustrating studies of the M4 muscarinic receptor allosteric modulator, LY2033298, as assessed by cell-based signalling studies, receptor mutagenesis, native brain studies (neurotransmitter release in slices and microdialysis), and models of behaviour in wild type and knockout mice. He had been working on it for hours already when he suddenly realized that he had originally written the quantifying allosterism down incorrectly, meaning he had to start completely over. Out of sheer frustration, he dropped his head directly onto his lap top. “God. Dammit.” He let out a frustrated groan as he faintly heard the barista giggle. 

A face that she recognized had just so happened to be occupying the coffee ship Kat had waltzed into, in dire need of some caffeine if she was going to continue being in the same hotel as her family. She had her own room, naturally, but the idea was still there and that was enough to give her a headache. A headache, she determined, that was going to be cured by the blackest of coffees.

With that drink in hand she maneuvered her way around the tables and peered over the shoulder of the back flip extraordinaire, reading mumbo-jumbo that couldn’t have made any sense to her even if she tried to understand.

“What?” Kat finally asked after a moment of huffing from Elliot. “Not working out?”

It’s my last day of freedom before we’re back at performing, this time in Hartford, Connecticut until July 21st. That being said, I would like to really enjoy my last completely work-free day doing something with a friend, or someone new, and we could do just about anything. I’m at your disposal. Let’s meet. Performing? What do you do? In Connecticut, let alone. I’ll take you up on that free day offer, though, assuming plans aren’t already in place.

She had wanted to go out on her own, without the need for security or someone else keeping an eye on her. A way to do that was making herself look like a different person. Just the addition of the blonde wig made her whole face look different and she was confident enough she wouldn’t be recognised. Sitting herself down at the bar she looked around, no one was even looking at her. Smiling to herself she ordered herself some wine and enjoyed the moment of solitude.

Kat didn’t find herself going out on her own often, but sometimes when the right night called for it, it was inevitable. “Right night” being a night in which her house was a place she didn’t want to be anywhere near. Hence the spontaneous trip to New York, a place she didn’t find herself unless she was planning on throwing back a few drinks.

She pushed through a crowd of people making idle chatter near the bar, a flash of annoyance passing her features at the space they were taking up but she found herself staring up at the menu soon enough. It was a new place she had decided to go, a mistake considering now she wasn’t entirely sure what was going to suit her tastes for the evening.

“What’s good here?” she asked to the body next to her, turning to the woman to let her know her question was aimed at her.
