One of the more common dangers TunnelClan cats face is snakes winding up in the tunnels this is most common in newer dug tunnels or after storms, on the rare occasion that cats are out of the tunnels for any length of time the tunnelers will be sent to clear the tunnels out and to make sure there are no unwanted visitors. Snakes are deadly and difficult to remove once located.
In the scene above we can see what happened when a TunnelClan apprentice DeerPaw stumbled upon a snake in the spare den, luckily for DeerPaw she was quickly shoved out of the way by senior warrior LarksCry. Unluckily LarksCry was bitten and passed away shortly after killing the snake, his apprentices training was moved to his mate who deemed the apprentice fully trained and TinyPaw was made a full-fledged tunneler, and renamed TinyBreeze not even a moon after LarksCrys death.
