POC solidarity and empowerment my ASS!
A group on campus is celebrating WOC graduates and fails to include ALL WOCs on campus. A significant number of white women were on the list but when my friend ( Shout out to Momo), called out one of the organisers for leaving me and another woc out, her excuse was "oh I'm sorry, I didn't know. I forwarded the message to ___. But can you forward this message to M___ ? I can't find her email." That is such a lazy response and honestly such a flimsy excuse since I sent her an email a week ago with documents she needed when the library printer wasn't cooperating. Some of the Asian woc and black women were also not on the email they sent out ( my friend showed me) This is the problem I have about the people on campus who preach about solidarity and empowerment and don't have the nerve to practice that shit. The same thing happened with the Black Girl Magic event that was held last year and this year. I received the email (this time) and saw that some names were missing. That's the thing I don't get. How can you be advocating for solidarity and empowerment, yet your actions have no trace of inclusivity?
