Borre style trefoil brooch, found somewhere in Larvik, Norway.

Really couldn't get my head around what was going on in the leg area/tips of the brooch limbs.

Happy new year to all of you beautiful, unique, passionate, weird, talented, exeptional, flawed, warmhearted, fun, wonderful, imperfect people!

Whatever you choose to be this year, don’t be perfect.

The perfect, or best, version of yourself doesn’t exist. It’s an illusion, upheld largely by the corporative capitalism’s well-refined talent for exploiting the profoundly human inclination always to be longing and striving for growth, progress, betterness.

But imperfection is a basic quality of every living organism. It is not simply a stage, or a phase, on a long, narrow path towards final perfection.

Imperfection is a basic characteristic of life itself.

Perfection belongs to death, and to corporative algorithms that must be told what human life is, unable to experience it. But you can. You have the imaginative and empathic power to experience, recognize, and love, the imperfect beauty of everything that lives.

Be imperfect. Be alive.

And if you have to be more, then just be more of what you already are.
