I could see them singing somebody that I used to know really ironically.

But could you ever get them to sing together in a way that wasn't ironic? They might be happy to break out into song on their own, but the Doctor actually joining any duet the Master tried to initiate is more difficult.

The Master always coming back, even after being killed off, has always been a recurring theme. Same as the Daleks, Cybermen, etc. You think they’re gone but they never are. The Master has come back loads of times even after being killed off.
