Thanks for the kind words, guys :) I managed to chase away the shitty mood during my lunch hour, so the second half of the day was less sucky. And now I’m home and that’s even better.

Out of curiosity, have you come across the Thieves In Time series by Orion-Lyonesse? It's on ff.net too. It's an interesting, though complicated, premise and I quite like some of the individual segments, even if I have mixed feelings about the series as a whole. If nothing else it's the reason The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is on my B7 mix for Avon and Vila.

I have, yes - and have read bits and pieces, but never bothered to get into the entire thing since if I remember correctly FF.net ate some of the parts and they never reuploaded them, so it’s incomplete?

But from what I read, I agree with you about the mixed feelings on the whole thing (what I can gather of it) and liking individual parts. Same with their Black and Blue series, really.

I’ve been going through my pictures folder in the course of updating my laptop and getting rid of anything I don’t need/want anymore and it basically feels like the digital equivalent of this. Probably long overdue but kind of disheartening nonetheless. (Although there’s definitely some stuff in there that I couldn’t explain why it got saved for the life of me.) All that aside, there’s nothing wrong with holding onto some things even if they have no value to anyone but yourself. Even if you think it’s best to get rid of most of it, keeping a few things just because they remind you of something important can’t hurt. On the other hand, there’s nothing cold about feeling ready to get rid of it if you feel like it no longer holds that value to you. 

I never thought I’d get to this point tbh. While the usable space in my room got smaller and smaller, I always used to think “well, once I find a house I can buy, I will have a whole room for all my old things, and my living room won’t look so cramped any more, and everything will be great”. I never even considered throwing anything away. But since the house buying thing doesn’t seem to be happening any time soon, I’m slowly but surely starting to go crazy here. I NEED to free some space. And I’m not even attached to the things per se. I’m attached to remembering them. Or I was...
