bruh i have so many redwall books it's ridiculous like i have an entire shelf full of just redwall books and i'd almost forgotten them until now also!! i am very excited for the au and i have no doubt that it's gonna be the best au

& yes!! redwall!!! the very best!!! my literal childhood tbh

(the au is for day 2 of the zevran/warden week which starts on monday, btw. the prompt is just ‘au’ so instead of being sensible & just going for a modern au or smth i had to go for redwall instead. ive never had so much fun in my life its the greatest)

Hi, me again. I think I'd have personally liked Liara a whole lot more if Bioware had written different conversations with her. Like, throughout all three games she talks about how she loves archeology and loves the Protheans and I was like "me too!" and I never really got to talk to her about it. There were very few conversations that were actually, well, interesting, especially in the first game. I mean, I like her, but she's not The Best, like Bioware seems to think.

Exactly. 

And every single time I get a chance to talk with her about her background, I get all excited, hoping something turns up and then…nothing.

My fav conversation with Liara was in ME3 after the Citadel invasion because SHE TALKED ABOUT HERSELF FOR ONCE. I love that story about her as a kid and her mom.

She’s all surface. Kelly Chambers said that Kasumi never reveals anything meaningful about herself, but, I dunno, I got a LOT more out of Kasumi during one mission than I did about Liara during three whole games.

And considering how close Shepard and Liara act during ME2 and 3 (especially 3) it was like “holy fuck Bioware, was I romancing Kaidan or Liara because I COULD BARELY TELL!”  - It gave me serious ME1 flashbacks. 

But, there’s no evidence to me, in game, to justify that closeness besides “Liara’s hot for Shepard” or the mind-melding from ME1 being a substitute for getting to know her. 

I’m totally with you on this. I’m sure I’d love Liara a lot more if Bioware let me learn a few things about her.

hi, so, i'm just wondering, what's your opinion on Liara??

I don’t hate her, I just don’t love her as much as Bioware seems to insist I should. 

Frankly, I found her boring in ME1, and that opinion did not change throughout the entire series. She got a more ruthless and changed her profession, but other than that, I saw little to no character growth and development through the whole series.

I do appreciate that she has a bit of subtle wit - and sometimes I see it, but I have literally never been less bored or otherwise just so neutral about a Bioware character in my life. 

Maybe someone on Tumblr will come around and change my mind on it or make me reconsider - it’s happened with Merrill, Anders, Sebastian, and Loghain - but right now, I think she’s, for the most part, likable but boring.
