You know how in writing it is often a bad trope to have the pov character stare in a mirror and just describe themself?

What if they were looking in the mirror because they are getting their hair done, or are getting dressed for a party/formal event with a partner or friend?

Could be an interesting way to start off with some banter, establish how the pov character feels about the advice they are given or the event they are getting ready for, heck maybe even show how they feel about their own body.
