I think it’s about time y’all got a dose of Morgan Freeman on ya timelines. He is an icon of our times, a true inspiration. His voice is so distinctive that you can tell it is him talking within the first millisecond. There is something about his voice that just makes you feel safe, and like you’re being hugged all around.
Morgan Freeman has been in so many movies, that it is super hard for me to pick and choose which ones to include in this post. I have scoured his filmography to find just the right ones, but I had to make sure they were ones I had seen to be sure to give them a proper representation in my post, so please forgive me if I don’t touch up on your favorite movie of his, I probably haven’t seen it! (I haven’t seen Se7en, guys, I’m sorry!)
To start with, let’s bring up the one that introduced me to Morgan. Keep in mind that I was born in the late nineties, so all of the movies that are going to be mentioned take place while I was alive.
Bruce Almighty, the start of my Morgan Freeman knowledge. Y’all remember that movie, right? He plays GOD. And, well, he might as well be God in real life because let’s face it.. He is exactly like how we want God to be. Now, I ain’t religious, but if Morgan Freeman was God, I could get behind worshiping him. (I fully expect to go to hell for this, no need to pray for me.) Bruce Almighty is a comedic representation of how God handles all of the prayers that are sent his way. Its way too many and sometimes God needs help, which is where Bruce comes into play.
Now let’s move onto a more serious movie.. The Bucket List. In case you guys don’t know what a bucket list is, its a list of things you want to do before you die. In the movie, Morgan Freeman plays a dying man in a hospice, who shares a room with Jack Nicholson. They team up together to complete all of their items on their Bucket Lists, and makes for an overall heartfelt movie.
Now to move on to my favorite of his movies... Now You See Me, and Now You See Me 2. These two movies are some of the most creative movies that have come out in recent times. I love watching all of the tricks in the movie, and was shocked to learn that all of the tricks in the movie are actually possible! That kind of makes me want to add learning all of them to my Bucket List! What’s better, is you get to see Morgan Freeman play a villain!
All right, time to wrap this post up, it’s getting a little too long. Till next time, guys.
