I’m a lathe operator and made this last night at work. My lathes are at the back of the building, right by train tracks.
For those of you that don’t know, in machining, vibrations, also called chatter, are the relative movements between the workpiece and the cutting tool. The vibrations result in waves on the machined surface, rather than a smooth cut. Chatter sounds like a train going by.
So about 3-4 times a night, I come running through my area making sure I’m not completely fucked. Something about dropping what your doing and sprinting to where you think there’s a disaster about to happen is VERY JACK SPARROW.
