On another note about that line, Bismuth saying Pearl is the same but a bit different only solidified my thinking that if Rose could see Pearl now she would fall in love all over again. No one can resist Pearl and the more confident the better. !
I totally agree! In my opinion, the only thing that made Rose back away from the possibility of Pearl and her's relationship is that Pearl WASN'T free. She was only following her diamond. Maybe Rose/Pink knew that Pearl was falling for her and then she didn't want Pearl to fall for her because she considers herself as a bad person (because of the choices made by Pink)?
Pearl "imagining" and finally showing emotions and having fun with the possible limited freedom they both had (possible because they were unsure if their while plan will work out or not), truly made Rose happy and proud of Pearl and her own choices. That these gems could finally express themselves.
But Pearl was just caged bird.
Many others truly didn't knew what "games" Pearl and her Diamond were playing. Including Bismuth.
But Bismuth and Pearl formed a unique and wholesome bond.
Pearl even got so cheerful and yelled Bismuth's name as we see in the very first episode where Bismuth appeared.
And Pearl was an awesome, renegade gem. And to top that position, AS A PEARL.
Pearl were deemed low and as toys back on Homeworld.
We can't really blame Bismuth for falling for Pearl because, y'know,
It's the FREAKING RENEGADE PEARL
I mean, just look at her!
Yes, we can't blame each other for being so gay/hetero for Pearl after all :'D
