The fact that the fact that Murdoc has Latin American heritage of some kind but it’s like estranged from him since he’s got no connection to his mothers side and he’s born and raised in stoke. And the fact that there’s two versions of Latin Simone in english and spanish and 2D sings the english version. And if you mashup both versions it’s like a conversation between a depressed 2D and a confused and concerned spanish guy, which makes it seem like neither understand what the other is trying to say because of the language barrier. Or even Ibrahim Ferrer is trying to talk 2D down. And the fact that Murdoc would never (at least back in phase 1) be that explicitly nice or supportive of 2D during his pill addiction struggle. But this is Ferrer singing these lyrics so it’s separate from Murdoc’s thoughts /surely./ but but the fact that there’s that disconnect for Murdoc between the emotional side he’s long since buried, that resembles the disconnect to his own background as a mixed British citizen.
