Val Chmerkovskiy & Danica McKellar - Salsa - week 7
Dance only. Will post the full version when it comes out.
This was too cool & edgy for DWTS. :)
I wonder how many Spanish words they're gonna fuck up tonight
So this is the song that Val has choreographed their salsa to for Latin week. Whoa! It looks really cool and I really like it but I could see it being a very challenging style and way of moving for Danica to pick up.
Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy talk to OTRC.com about week 7 - Latin night -- and joke around during rehearsal - check out the interview (includes 5 highlights + VIDEOS).
So this link takes you to the full article with five video snippets from the full interview with Val and Danica about their Latin week dances. Their salsa sounds amazing- I'm sure they will be very disappointed if they can't perform it together on Monday night! Actually he does mention her ribs at one point so I think maybe this took place after the interview and it looks like they're still into it and still rehearsing so maybe it's not that bad and they'll keep going. (I keep editing this post-- cause I keep watching the next video snippet and now it sounds like her injury may have started with their Contemporary in a lift.)They both look pretty tired though.
The interviews are very interesting...Love Val's description of the genre of street/urban salsa.
Danica wants to be able to learn so many more dances-- paso, rumba, waltz, tango. She really wants to do either the Viennese Waltz or regular Waltz. That really is her best style I think- it's more in tune with her personality.
BTW, these interviews tell me more about their relationship and what is happening for them as a couple than any of their packages have or even Val's blog posts so far this season.
Immunity Dance!
So this week is the immunity dance. I finally read ABC's synopsis of how this week is going to go. You can read that here. If you don't want to read here is what happens. Everyone has to prepare four dances. The dance that they are being scored on and then a jive, rumba and a cha-cha for a dance off. The person with the highest individual score on Monday is immune from the challenge and is safe from elimination. The other six couples will have to battle it out 1-on-1. The winner of each of the battles will get 3 points added to their total. I kind of think this idea is a little shady. What do you guys think? Feel free to let me know through my inbox or on this post!?
