Elysia can tell she's made the other nervous instantly, which hadn't been her intention. There'd been no reason but her own curiosity to ask the question, and she feels a little bad about it now.

"Amastacia," Elysia says, trying the name out on her tongue. "It's pretty." Starflower is as well, of course, but she thinks she likes the elven more. But if Eliana usually goes by Starflower, she won't use a name she doesn't want.

"Ah, yes, I suppose that's only fair," Elysia agrees. She knows a pivot when she sees it, but she'll let the elven girl have this one, for the moment. "Amell. Nothing as nice as Starflower, but it has a certain ring to it."

It's safe to share, if only because she'd picked it out herself. There's no chance of it tying back to her old life, before all of this, and she likes it that way. The more distance she can put between herself and her past, the better.

"Anything else you'd like to know, while we're asking questions?" She hopes she can set the other at ease, if only a little bit.

It's always the same in this form. Bones crack and warp, spines and horns sprout, and Nan becomes a beast made purely to kill. But her needs are never satisfied, bloodlust and carnal desires mingling, ending lives in an orgasmic rush. It leaves her hungrier than when she started, and she stalks through the night in search of prey.

She's not picky, stomping through camp as she is. She doesn't care if they've ever desired her, or mused over impure thoughts. There is only so much time she can last before the need for a warm body overwhelms. Nan thrusts her head into the first tent she finds, salivating over the delicious form lying below. Come, she seems to hiss, though her mouth can form no words. A single clawed hand reaches in, slowly pulling the blankets back, savoring the unwrapping of this gift.

"Hold faith," Eurydice says. "Don't let yourself falter now. This land is.... strange, and cold." The shadow cursed lands certainly live up to their names. She wishes they all had the same comfort here that Shadowheart did. Even with Dolly Dolly's and Isobel's blessings, Eurydice still feels unsettled. "But it held life once. Remember that, hold it to your chest like a candle's fragile light."

“Do you want some? I’m never going to get through all this on my own.” Technically that was a lie, there was probably no singular amount of candy that Katherine couldn’t get through on her own, but she was trying to be nice. It probably didn’t seem like much to offer, but they needed something for some energy before going out investigating that so-called haunted house downtown. Sure, it was a little bit of a fluff story compared to some of her work, but at least it sounded interesting and it was on theme for the Hallowe’en issue.
