Laurel x felicity + 8
8. holding hands (so i went a bit more with holding by the wrist than holding hands oops)
The thing is, this is probably going to get her killed. Siren is stronger, the better fighter, cruel, ruthless-
And Felicity isn’t going to just let her walk out. So she’s holding her by the wrist, and praying. A lot. Very hard. Chazek chazek venit-chazek, chazek-
She doesn’t expect anything other than a sharp blow to the head- And what she gets is Siren, curling and uncurling her fingers. Felicity thinks this is progress for their relationship, that she can look at her now and not hate her for being Laurel and not being Laurel- Or maybe she does, maybe she does but two dead Laurels is so much worse than one terrible alive one and-
“Why are you touching me?” Siren asks, tugging her wrist against Felicity’s grasp.
“Because I’m-” For Laurel for Laurel for- “Because you’re about to walk into a suicide mission and you’re not going to.”
Siren pulls back from Felicity’s hand, and is met by Felicity grabbing at her again, by the hand this time. Her fingers wrap over Siren’s like a vice, like a cuff, and she remembers suddenly what it feels like to be afraid of things.
“Stop,” Siren says, so harshly and carelessly.
Felicity pulls on her hand. “No. You’re going- You’re going back into the cell and you’re going to stay there until this is over, and he’s dead, and then you can go wherever you want but you’re not going anywhere right now.”
“What are you doing?” Siren asks, and the bewilderment in her tone is starting to threaten her composure.
“Protecting you,” Felicity says. “And uh- Holding you hand. To protect you!”
“I’m not her,” Siren says.
And Felicity thinks, your hands are the same. And Felicity says, “I know. Get back in the cell.”
“Or you’ll what?” Siren asks.
Felicity squeezes her hand, and thinks she must have a death wish. Thinks that squeezing Laurel’s hand had always helped before so maybe it’ll help now. “If you really wanted to go, you would’ve hurt me,” Felicity says. “But you want me to do this because no one’s ever protected you and I am trying, I am trying so hard and you don’t like me but you like the idea of dying even less and maybe somewhere in you there’s this little spark that likes the idea that I’m looking out for you so maybe you want to do what I say and maybe-”
“Stop,” Siren says. “Stop. Just- Stop talking. You talk too much.”
It hurts, but she takes it.
“I don’t let other people fight my battles,” Siren says, and it’s the most Laurel she’s ever been.
“That’s kind of what we do,” Felicity says.
“Because I look like her?” Siren says.
“Because you need help,” Felicity says.
“No,” Siren says, finally pulling free of Felicity’s grasp. “I need to get what’s mine.”
Me, Felicity thinks. I was yours.
“If you die, I’m going to be really upset!” Felicity yells, and her hand trembles at her side.
