MARY & LAURA INGALLS Little House On the Prairie, Season 1 (2026)
Little House On The Prairie - Season 1, Ep. 01 (Independence)
The new Little House On The Prairie reboot is giving major American Girl vibes.
Especially Laura’s friendship with Good Eagle
I am politely asking American Girl to cool it on this celebrity collab nonsense and partner up with Netflix Little House on the Prairie instead because we NEED special edition dolls of Laura and Good Eagle 😭
Nettles - Little Puma (short story) Chap 1
Hello everyone! you may have seen my work on Wattpad, and I though I would display it here as well. Not many people have read my work, so I am posting the chapters here. The Tumblr audience will most likely prefer my work. I don't really understand Tumblr, so I hope that with my multiple blogs, nothing will repost?
CHAPTER 1:
I will be using the word Indian just to fit with the time period. Please don't take offense as I know many can become upset at the use.
My intention of the use of Hayden Anhedonia's (Ethel Cain) song Nettles ↠

We were in a race to grow up
Yesterday through today 'til tomorrow But when the plant blew up A piece of shrapnel flew and slowed that part of you The doctors gave you until the end of the night But not 'til daylight (not 'til daylight) Not 'til daylight (not 'til daylight)Time passes slower in the flicker of the hospital light I pray the race is worth the fight Made a fool of myself down on Tennessee Street It wasn't pretty like the movies It was ugly, like what they all did to me And they did to me what I wouldn't do to anyone You know that's for sureTell me all the time not to worry (worry) And think of all the time I'll, I'll have with you When I won't wake up on my own (wake up on my own), wake up on my own Held close all the time, knowin' I'm half of youMm, mm Mm, mm Mm, mm, mm Mm, mm MmLay me down where the trees bend low Put me down where the greenery stings I can hear them singin' (singin') "To love me is to suffer me, " and I believe that When I lay with you in that auld lang room Wishin' I was the way you say that you are You'll go fight a war, I'll go missin' I've warned you, for me, it's not that hardThat picture on the wall you're scared of looks just like you (you) I wanna bleed, I wanna hurt the way that boys do (oh) And maybe you're right and we should stop watchin' the news 'Cause, baby, I've never seen brown eyes look so blueTell me all the time (tell me all the time) not to worry (not to worry) And think of all the time I'll, I'll have with you When I won't wake up on my own (wake up on my own), wake up on my own Held close all the time, knowin' I'm half of youThink of us inside (think of us inside) after the weddin' (after the weddin') Sufferin' the while to lie a time or two When we won't wake up on our own (wake up on our own) Wake up on our own (wake up on our own) Held close all the time, knowin' (knowin') This was all for youThink of us inside Gardenias on the tile Where it makes no difference who held back from whoTo love me is to suffer me
I am really liking the new Little House on the Prairie
it took me three episodes to make up my mind on it, because the books are so nostalgic to me and it is definitely different, but I am really liking it. And while they do deviate from the books but the details from the books they do keep in are really great, the scene where Caroline took out the china doll and put it on the mantle hit the nostalgia button hard.
The show really focuses more on Charles and Caroline than I expected, but they do a really good job as fleshing them out as people who were just trying to survive and figure out what's best for their family. I like that they are both deeply flawed.
My one little gripe is that I think that the wild, tomboy younger sister and the girly, proper older sister act is a little overdone. It's starting to even out a little. They also threw in this strange detail that Laura has trouble reading and doesn't like lessons. My girl was a school teacher and an author. That is a strange character trait to throw in for no apparent reason, like it doesn't really add anything other than to give Mary one more thing to complain about. Maybe it will be part of a character arc.
So far I really like how they are dealing with the land issues. I grew up someplace that still in 2026 is in the middle of an active land dispute and it is complicated. I like that they are showing it as complicated.
I don't know how the rest of the season pans out, but I really hope it gets more than one season because I would love to see the dug-out house from the Banks of Plum Creek and the Long Winter.
Watching as Jack ran through the field to Laura, was a Homeward Bound moment.
I completely adore the relationship between Laura and Mary. it's such a genuinely sincere and painful and truthful and loving portrayal of two siblings who are so different from the other but desperately love each other, too. even their arguments and the mean things they say to each other when they're hurt is truthful to the reality of such a sibling dynamic, but I also love how they will tell each other the truths the other needs to hear, as well as the truths they want to admit to themselves but can't yet face so they tell the other instead, and in their own way find a way to face it because they've got each other. the conversations they have whispering at bedtime in their own little world are so sweet to me for this reason. I just really love these sisters.
