Captain Marvel #45
Me before watching Logan: I’m so glad this will be the last Wolverine movie.
Me after watching Logan: Can we get three more movies of Logan raising Laura and the two of them going on adventures? please!
The ending of Logan was so adorable and heart-warming. Logan and Laura got a nice house in Canada, they ate ice-cream together, and lived happily ever after.
I saw Logan and it was amazing. There is so much I love about this film, but I’m just gushing over Laura’s character. She is a biracial, Spanish speaking young girl who kicks ass and is also very smart for her age. She’s tough mentally, and emotionally but she is still a child who just wants a family. A very well rounded female character and wonderfully acted (for real I’ll be very surprised if the young girl who plays her doesn’t become an A-list actress one day).
Also one complaint I have about the X-Men movies are the lack of diversity in the team (and before anyone says it no, one black woman is not diversity) diversity is having characters of many different races, religion, sexual orientations, and gender identity. The X-Men comics are amazing for their diversity, but the movies not so much. I bring this up to say I love the fact that in the timeline of Logan the “new X-Men” are a group of multiracial children with a good mix of boys and girls.
Now I’m not saying these two details are why I loved the movie, in fact they were more the icing on the cake because Logan, to me, was just a perfectly written movie in terms of story, characters, and pacing and was beautifully shot as well. When watching this movie I went through so many emotions; I laughed, cried, gasped in shock ect. Good art is suppose to make you feel and boy did I feel a lot watching this movie.
If Logan isn’t at least nominated for an Oscar I will be very disappointed.
