XPC2016 With Heliotrope and Laurel - Day Eight: ‘Tis Not The Season
They arrived back at the house safe and sound. Laurel left Marzia in the living room as Heliotrope headed upstairs into their bedroom. Marzia took a once over at the house they were staying in and decided that she was impressed with it. She felt like she didn’t deserve to stay in such a nice house, let alone the kindness of two strangers. She debated on running away, but her thoughts were interrupted by the sight of Heilotrope shirtless and wearing his nightpants. Her eyes widen as she was trying to make sense of what she was seeing. Laurel quickly joined them and was equally as dumbfounded.
“What on blue blazes are you wearing?” Laurel said almost shrieking. Heliotrope had told Laurel he had an idea to try and cheer up Marzia. He didn’t however, tell her what it was and told her to just “go with it” when it happens.
“Ever made a snow angel in your underwear before?” Heliotrope placed his hands on his hips. His pride was radiating off of him.
“No, and for good reason.” Laurel said trying to hold back a chuckle.
“Well there’s a first time for everything. Watch and learn ladies!” At those words, Heliotrope dashes out of the house and the girls followed suit. He then made it to the front lawn and plumped on the ground, like dead weight, making an explosion of snow. Spreading is arms and legs, in a vertical motion like an ecstatic child, Laurel watched and couldn’t help but laugh. He really was as adorkable as she has always known him. She looked over at Marzia who didn’t look amused at all. In fact she looked like she was on a verge of tears again.
“Marzia? Are you okay?”
“Destiny did an amazing piece on snow angles the other day…” She mumbled trying to hold back the tears. “It was a masterpiece.” Marzia turned back and headed inside the house just as Heliotrope walked up to Laurel from his prancing around in the snow.
“Did it work? Did she laugh?” Heliotrope asked hoping his plan had work, but to his avail, Laurel shook her head solemnly.
“I’m afraid not. She’s really upset over this Destiny person. Maybe we should try talking to her and see what the real problem is.”
