Happy Springfest! I worked with @roostercrowned who provided a lovely Kettricken/Laurel prompt about secret relationships. Their comic is great, check out those facial expressions!

big fan of the exchanges between laurel and fitz where its soo clear that laurel has cracked the code. even more than that she is reading between lines fitz does even know exist. but fitz just lies anyways like whats he supposed to doo? but it doesnt even matter. laurel is NOT listening. she knows what she saw. laurel asks are YOU a passion lord golden is indulging in? and looks at fitz and before fitz can even begin to process realizes there is no way. that man has no idea what that would even imply.
I love this scene so much. It’s one of the rare moments where we see Fitz embrace the whole of himself.
He see his Old Blood self and the danger surrounding it, and he sees the wolf in him. And he sees his loyalty to his family. Nighteyes always understood that to be a wolf is to be loyal to your pack, but Fitz has always viewed the two at odds with one another.
I love how Fitz sees the way Dutiful is being used and abused, even if the boy thinks he’s loved. He understands that Dutiful’s treatment at the hands of the Farseers is far better than what he would receive from the Piebalds. I love that he swears loyalty to a boy he’s never met because he wants to protect him from a terrible fate.

Kettricken takes her crown off for an evening and picks up other implements of power... and service.
Kettricken glid through her sitting room to enter her bedchamber, leaving the door cracked behind her. Next to the door was a small table, and on that table was only one thing: a simple metal rest. The Queen removed her crown and placed it there, as she placed it every night.
Her neck cried out from relief, and she released a pent-up sigh. Yet, even without a crown, her duties as Queen were not over just yet.
My first contribution for @rotekinktober is posted! For Day 19, Service. Also includes size similarity (like size difference but hot when you're used to being the tall one), bondage, impact play, sensory deprivation, some orgasm control, bodily fluids, and praise.
This is my first femslash fic, first BDSM fic, and first PWP fic. Go big or go home, right?
One thing that’s interesting to me about the scenes in FE, the ones where Fitz blames his assassin’s training rather than his trauma, is that we never actually see him killing/treating anyone as coldly as coldly as he thinks he did in RA, and he only kills in self-defense in AQ, despite his attempts otherwise.
You were never really any good at it, Fitz. Despite what you told yourself.
We start to see Fitz harden his heart and prepare himself for what he thinks he must do. He tells himself that the boy is a killer despite his terrified eyes. He tells himself he’s a killer, despite his own terrified eyes.
We see Fitz witness the pain he caused and think himself immune to it. He uses it to harden his heart and make a plan that he refuses even to tell us. Even Myblack can tell nothing good will come, but he asserts that he will be obeyed.
The plan coalesces with Fitz reminding the boy and himself that he’s a traitor instead of a person, and now he starts to spend his energy on shows of strength. He’s hardened himself enough.
Unreliable narrator Fitz strikes again. He’s convinced himself that because he’s decided this is a good idea, so too do Laurel and LG.
I wondered about the parallels between Fitz’s treatment of Deerkin and what he experienced in RA in the dungeons and AQ the times when he was captured. The below are from RA:
A quick ebook search showed he never said “on your feet” to someone and hauled them to their feet, despite what he thinks he would have done 15 years ago. He’s so far gone into his trauma that he’s remembering the actions of others as his own.
I've been tagged by @marsskaterboii, and I too have a WIP for kinktober! I present my laurelxkett fic for rote kinktober day 19, service. I've shared this one before, but I wanted to post a spicy-but-not-too-spicy one for today
“Now that won’t do,” Kettricken murmured. She brought a hand up to Laurel’s jaw and massaged the tenseness out of it. She thumbed her bottom lip, pressing the slightest amount and they parted. Her thumb went inside and rested on her tongue, Laurel’s lips closing around it. Laurel’s eyes fluttered closed and her breathing steadied.
“That’s better,” Kettricken whispered. She stepped forward to align their hips, her free hand skirting Laurel’s waist. Her fingers splayed, and she pulled Laurel in closer. She kissed her ear, then her cheek, then her nose. Laurel’s eyes and mouth opened. Kettricken removed her thumb, dragging it down her bottom lip and chin, down the soft skin of her throat to the hollow at the base of it. She kept her thumb there, feeling the beat rise to her touch, like Laurel’s heart wanted to leap out of her chest if only she could be closer.
Only then did Kettricken bring their lips together. Laurel was softening, but there was still some force to her kiss, some determination, and some control.
That would be gone soon enough.
No pressure tagging @marswillow and @tragediegh! And anyone else who wants to play :3
A collection from middle chapters of convos between Laurel and Fitz.
I love how torn Laurel is by Fitz’s Wit. He’s not looking down on her for not having it, therefore he must not have it. She can’t imagine there are Witted folks who grew up outside this community who don’t think the way they think.
Also Fitz just outright saying it??? Saying he’s Witted??? Is this the first time he ever says it to someone rather than let them assume? I think it might be. Is this 🌼 growth?? 🌼
RIP laurel’s childhood. I wonder if Fitz had a similar experience since he was too well bred for the servants and not well bred enough for the nobility, hence why he was always so lonely
Quite the extremist approach, Laurel. This idea by her always stuck with me. I wonder if she dated someone with this Wit who chose their bondbeast over her in a moment of stress, like how Burrich’s grandfather did, to illicit such an opinion. It definitely parallels biphobia.
