The Man Who Awoke by Laurence Manning $14 Ballantine Books First Printing (1975) This is true collector's item and a really great classic sci-fi novel from 1930s; before even the golden age! My understanding is that this is the only published novel length book by Laurence Manning. It follows Norman Winters, who invents a drug that will allow him to sleep for thousands of years at a time in an underground chamber. He resurfaces every 5,000 years to see what the future has in store. Oftentimes he is confronted with societal decay and hostility and must race back to his slumber to awaken 5,000 years later. Outstanding cover art by Dean Ellis. . Overall Excellent Condition, Pages Look Excellent, Good Spine, Maybe Read Once, Minor Shelf Wear . . . #themanwhoawoke #laurencemanning #paperbacksciencefiction https://www.instagram.com/p/B7e54T5gXGp/?igshid=1xbpm2xuibpso
