So... bc Smeyer is a... a mess (to put it politely[to get to my point])

She's written it so people of color who are turned into vampires will have an 'olive tone' to their skin.

In the movies, Lady-Queen Catherine Hardwicke had Laurent played by a black actor because Laurent was described as having olive skin.

Which means technically both Felix and Demetri of the Volturi should've been played by actors of color because in New Moon they're both described as having olive skin.
