Vector Transformation: Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach

Mabuhay! In time for her homecoming, I made an illustration of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.

The illustration is inspired by the profiles of royalties seen in cameos, coins and stamps.  The profile is truly a strong perspective to convey an elegant portrait as it shows the unique silhouette and posture of the subject, and offers a full and elongated view of the neck.

The versions are in gemstone hues of pink and blue, in line with this year’s Pantone colors of the year.  They also reflect trademarks now closely associated to Pia, e.i. the gown and crown, as well as the color predominantly used by Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Universe.

Vector Transformation

The original intention was to transform myself into a vector character to be utilized in my infographic resume. But decided to keep the document more streamlined and to add more detail to the supposed simple character.

The final output was based on several images, primarily the two shown in the photo set.

Now "vectorizing" friends for practice and to share the love. :D  Will post illustrations from this project soon.
