okay i need to get this off of my chest because of this post by @lawyerlarrie but specifically the lines:
“... a fundamental flaw in babygate is that Briana seems to have power. In the real world, the world we live in, a woman like Briana, whatever her positive qualities as a mother might be, does not have power over someone like Louis Tomlinson.”
I seriously cannot understand the mindset of the people who want to believe Louis is a monster who would take away Briana’s rights as a mother because he has more money than her. They are comparing him to Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen who are worthless men because they think it furthers their agenda that Louis should have all primary custody “if Freddie is real.”
What they don’t seem to understand is that babies need stability and that is something that Louis Tomlinson does not have right now. Half of his life is split in separate countries. He is either working, flying around the world, or he is at home and probably spending time with his son. He is not in the position to be a primary caretaker of Freddie right now.
He can not just fly Freddie around the world willy nilly. Obviously they made an exception for a desperate situation so that Freddie could see his dying grandmother, but that is not something that children or the caretakers involved enjoy. Babies need routine, something that traveling seriously interrupts. Flying hurts babies because the air pressure and their ears is a pain they’re not used to and don’t know how to handle. It’s why babies cry so often on airplanes, something that must be awful for the parents involved because they can’t do much to help it and the rest of the flight blames them.
And Louis can’t just set up a play pen in a studio and let Freddie fend for himself whenever he needs to work. He also just can’t put his entire life and career on the line to spend all his time with his son, nor should he have to when there’s a coparent who is able and willing to be the primary caretaker.
Sure, he could hire a nanny to take care of Freddie while he’s working or off traveling, but he still would not be spending the time with Freddie and he’d be depriving Freddie from spending time with his mother who is in a stable place right now. What you believe about Briana aside, she is in a stable place with a family to help her raise Freddie and a nice home.
And none of you actually think she is abusive towards Freddie in anyway, or you should have stepped in months ago and actually contacted someone. If you honestly believe trying to keep clothes on an infant and not succeeding is abuse, or dancing with a baby on your hip is abuse, or any of the other ridiculous allegations you’ve tried to throw at Briana and her family and you did nothing to stop an innocent child from being abused than you are scum.
Maybe when Freddie is older or Louis is more stable in his life and career, he and Briana can work out new custody arrangements. Freddie can go on trips with his dad to the UK or travel to the safari to see elephants in the wild instead of going to the zoo. Maybe if Louis settles down, maybe with Danielle or another woman or solo, and stops jet-setting around the world he can take Freddie for longer periods of time.
But right now there is no reason to believe that Freddie is being abused by any of the Jungwirth family. He’s growing at a healthy rate, he’s so obviously very loved, and he is a happy baby. Briana and other members of her family have confirmed that Louis can see Freddie whenever he wants, and sees him often when he is in LA. Just because Louis has been harassed so much he’s not comfortable sharing the moments he spends with his son on social media anymore does not mean he never sees him.
You go on and on about how Briana can’t post photos of her own son publicly because Louis’ request for privacy trumps her right as Freddie’s primary caretaker, but then use his obvious privacy concerns about posting photos of his son publicly as an excuse to say he doesn’t care about Freddie at all.
He has made it so obvious that social media is not where he shares the things that are most important to him. He has about an even amount of photos of Freddie and of the rest of his family this year, and there’s not many. He doesn’t share his romantic life, whether you believe it’s with Danielle or with Harry. He doesn’t post about his work. He posts photos about soccer, his friends and him partying, and selfies. You cannot know Louis Tomlinson by looking at his Insta.
And you cannot know Louis Tomlinson because of what tabloids post about him and his family. How you can go around thinking that because tabloids said he’s going to custody court with Briana and never sees Freddie is true but then think everything else they post about him, including the fact that his son is real, he has a girlfriend, and a million other things are false I’ll never understand.
The people actually involved in Freddie’s life have commented several times about how Louis is involved in Freddie’s life. Louis has not made any public comment, either via his social media, his own mouth, or rep statements that he and Briana were ever in a custody battle or that he does not see his son. Just because he does not have primary custody and is not trying to destroy Briana’s relationship with their son, just because you might think she deserves it for whatever reason, does not mean that Freddie isn’t real or that Louis isn’t a wonderful father.
Your misogyny is shining through clear as day here and it is disgusting. And if you want to believe that Louis is the type of person who would attack the mother of his child in court ~just because he can~ or the type who would exploit innocent babies and allow them to be abused because he thinks staying in the closet is more important, you go right ahead.
I’ll be over here, watching and supporting a man who was unexpectedly thrust into fatherhood at a young age in a situation he wasn’t prepared for, doing his best and what he thinks is right for his son even when he is personally having a hard time. I’d much rather eventually be wrong and have supported and taken the word of someone I consider a good man, than be a fan of the Louis Tomlinson you believe he is.
