i’m kind of that sad in the new royal magic clip sofia isn’t even phased by layla being in the same situation as her. from what the audience has seen, sofia had never met another non-married person who wasn’t born into royalty. i think it would have been really sweet if she got excited about it. sofia has been a princess for 4 years in canon, which really isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things even if she is quite young. maybe i’m mischaracterizing but i feel like she’d be really pumped to meet someone just like her.

Camila, Layla, or Zane will have a piece of magical jewelry similar to Sofia’s amulet in Sofia the First: Royal Magic. The possibilities are Camila’s crown, Layla’s bracelet, armlet, or belt, and Zane’s broach.
EDIT: It has confirmed to be Layla’s bracelet through her Magical Friends short.
In an ABC interview with Ariel Winter, a new scene of Sofia the First: Royal Magic was shown. It features Sofia talking to Pepper the peppercorn who is surprised she can understand animals, and Sofia explains to Layla, Camila, and Zane that it is because of her amulet.

In the Sofia the First: Magical Friends short featuring Layla, Layla forgets to curtsey when introducing herself to the audience. The way that this is depicted can be read as her being new to royal customs, as she mirrors the same tendencies Sofia did early on as a princess. This, coupled with Sofia’s line “we totally belong here” in the trailer may suggest that Sofia is not the only person at Charmswell not born into royalty.
