Sofia the First: Royal Magic is an official Disney Jr spinoff show currently in production and set to release in May 2026. Here I will do my best to give any and all updates on the show as it progresses.

Creator Craig Gerber has said that the Sofia the First: Royal Magic episode featuring Elena has not been finished yet.

The dragon that was not chosen as a castle pet in the first episode of Sofia the First: Royal Magic is still on the Charmswell campus, and will probably be seen again according to series creator Craig Gerber.

Amber’s singing voice in Sofia the First: Royal Magic was treated to make her sound younger, leading to the performance sounding slightly muffled to some. Creator Craig Gerber has stated that he believed that Darcy Rose Byrnes, the voice of Amber, sounded the same as she did in the original shows final season, but another staff member claimed she sounded too old.

While the members of the Princess Council in Sofia the First: Royal Magic cannot be revealed, creator Craig Gerber has confirmed that the Fairy Godmother has reported to it, despite not being apart of the council itself.

The Disney Store will be making merch of Sofia the First: Royal Magic.

Ashley Eckstein and Meghan Strange will return to Sofia the First: Royal Magic to voice Mia and Robin respectively.

The Charmswell School for Royal Magic’s location has not been stated in Sofia the First: Royal Magic, but creator Craig Gerber says that it is “probably in Enchancia.”

The May 29th release of Sofia the First: Royal Magic’s soundtrack will give away upcoming story moments and characters from episodes that will have not been aired yet.

There will be 30 episodes total in Sofia the First: Royal Magic’s first season. There are roll-out schedules, but they tend to change to suit when Disney thinks the episodes will perform best. These changes are not always communicated to the shows staff.

Series creator Craig Gerber has confirmed that Sofia having a wand in episode 1 of Sofia the First: Royal Magic is not a continuity error. That wand was provided to her by Charmswell and looks different to the one Cedric gives her in episode 2. The latter has a gem at the tip of the wand where the former does not.

Every princess who Sofia meets in Sofia the First: Royal Magic’s first season will sing at one point or another. This means that Sofia and Rapunzel will meet again in a future episode.

Series creator Craig Gerber has said that one more character from Sofia the First will return for Sofia the First: Royal Magic’s first season. He cannot confirm or deny which character it is, but says it will be exciting to see!
