Brunch at Belgrave
On Sunday just gone (feb 2nd) we did our second 'Brunch at Belgrave' food service...we've just about recovered now. Firstly, thanks to everyone who came down and enjoyed the menu that Carl put together. I'm sure you'd agree it was fantastic and every dish offering something great for people to savour. If you did attend you may have seen how hectic the first two hours of service were. With a queue at the door before 12pm we knew we were in for a 'challenging' time and as much as I feel we delivered a great service we've definitely learnt a lot about how to manage the day moving forward. We did around 145 covers between 12pm and 1.30. We were really shifting and I can proudly say that (as far as I'm aware) every dish went out within 30 minutes of ordering with the majority reaching the table around 20 minutes after ordering. However, the coffees people were ordering definitely did not reach the tables at a suitable time and we know this needs to be addressed. Our next brunch is on March 2nd and before then we'll devise a better way of 'managing' the brunch so that everyone has an even better experience and, more importantly, nobody will make their way to the Belgrave to be presented with a wait time that just doesn't work for them. I saw a good few people making the decision to leave and that's pretty sad. We're hugely proud of the food we're serving on these brunches and we love that people are coming down and leaving happy...stick with us as we tweak it! Until the next one, here's a picture of the black pudding dish we put out
