Witch's Cottage Moodboard

Decided to do one of the "Moodboard Layovers" from @writeblrsummerfest !

It's time to create a moodboard for the only place your character feels at home. This could be a real place, a ruined cathedral, a rooftop, or even in someone else's company.

When Crispin stumbled into the mortal realm, a witch/cunning woman took him in and cared for him, protecting him from the prying eyes of the rest of humanity. She was the first person who ever was kind to him, and she grows to think of him as her adopted child. Her cottage is humble, but warm and cozy. It's the first place to feel like home to him, far more so than the castle he was born in.

LAYOVER PROMPT #1

"You meet someone from your past at baggage claim. They shouldn't be alive."

Admittedly, this prompt got away from me but I like it so here we are. Spoilers for my D&D campaign.

Would you forgive? Is there no limit to your grace? Perhaps you are right; a better soul, a good soul, would have wept their loss but not retaliated.

I did not weep over their dead bodies. There was nothing but torn, bloody viscera to weep over. Not even our children were spared.

Lili had seen only the blooming sunflowers four times in her life. They were her favourites, you see. 

They never bloomed again. I saw to that. That's when I learnt that taking life is just as easy as giving it. Never before had I dabbled in what they called necromancy, but even then I could not bring her back.

I would not yield to the laws of our world. How could the natural law be that a mother outlives her daughter?

One hundred years it took me. 

One hundred years their princess would sleep.

A life for a life.

I dare not tell Lili what became of her beloved sunflower field.
