Don Paolo developed a crush on Layton in college but had his heart broken seeing him and Claire get together

He was jealous of not Layton, but Claire

I loooved seeing them work together in Unwound Future, they have a good dynamic

I definitely think Paolo enjoyed working with them a lot more than he lets on

Speaking of that, I think after unwound future Layton finds himself alone and grieving for one, losing his Claire for second time, and maybe not permanently but for the moment Luke leaving too

Perhaps Don Paolo would stick around, working with him wasn’t too bad after all..

In my mind they start staying together and take care of Flora together 🗣️🗣️🗣️

He’d bring Layton flowers and small mechanical gifts

Seeing him dip into grief like that I think he’d try and help him the best he can. Maybe having past experience himself

Try and help him get his mind off things but also let him speak if he needs it

They both enjoy building things (Layton on smaller scale but still) and I think they could bond over that
