Big Elias rant !! Talking about my interpretations of his character as well as head canons

*a lot of this stuff is me projecting !! I see myself in him a lot :-) obviously you can disagree this is just how I see the character

I find Elias really interesting these are just my own interpretations and hes for him

I imagine he has alooot of internalized shit due to the nature of how he grew up.

His family is clearly extremely religious and I'm sure that had impacts on him. Obviously being Christian is not a bad thing but what we can tell his parents are controlling and DO use it as a means to control what he does even as an adult

I personally he him as trans masc and queer to some extent, these are things he would one billion percent have a hard time accepting within himself. I feel like he'd figure out he's trans but not be open w/ his family. He'd find a somewhat safe space in moobys and be out as trans masc with his coworkers/friends

Dante and Randal are friends/older sibling/ mentor figures in his life and it's a nice thought to imagine him feeling comfortable to be that part of himself around them even when it felt unsafe with his family

In clerks 3 we can see how Elias dresses in a much more alternative fashion although he trying to be "satanic" I think it can also be seen as him expressing himself after being repressed due to religious pressures for his entire life His outfits also border on drag which is !!! Hey!! Imo something that can express him as a repressed queer character

Especially in clerks 2 I think Elias is definitely neurodivergent coded. He's nerdy, akward and bad at social cues, I see myself in him alot lol. l am also a huge transformers fan so I lit up when I heard him talking about it in the movie.

I do not think he's diagnosed and if he ever does get one it wouldn'tbe til around clerks 3

I feel like I could see him not getting diagnosed as a kid because his parents were like "oh but you're such a good student! You couldn't possibly have anything. You're "normal"

Unnecessary post-clerks-3 angst comic I made! 👀👀

This is based on the running joke (that i really don’t like) in the two comics post clerks 3 and a bit in the actual movie that Jay and Silent Bob don’t really remember Dante or think he moved away to Florida. I put those comic panels that inspired this under the cut along with fun statistics about the making of this comic.

But enjoy 6 whole pages of angst! (Warning for a lil violence (just a fist fight, nothing serious 🫯)

The entire comic took approximately 16 hours to draw with an average of 2.6 hours per page!

The page that took the longest was the first one for some reason, it took 4 hours!!

But anyway I drew this over the course of like 3 days because I’m actually a chud and don’t really have anything else to do with my time
