Kerala metrology department imposed a rupees 85000 fine on PepsiCo., after conducting a raid and founding a weight variation in the famous potato chips lay’s packets. An NGO for human rights registered a complaint about weight variation and after that legal metrology department of Kerala conduct a raid and found out in the inspection that packets with a net quantity of 115gm only contain 50gm to 80gm chips. The department took action after finding differences in quantity and fined the parent company 85,000 rupees.
