It's from this thread but I'll try to sum it up. basically some medieval rabbis were discussing whether Eliyahu's wife would have been able to remarry when he ascended to heaven because he didn't give her a get but also didn't technically die, and decided that he was no longer a man, but an angel, which nullified the marriage. Centuries later, that ruling was used as a reference for the legal status of a trans woman who won Eurovision. The thread broadens from there but my takeaway is that someone who transitions from an angel to a man, or vice versa in our case (yes I know he's still considered an angel but he takes on gender), has a change in gender status.
