This is what I did today.
Each of those mums is ONE plant, which were 2/$8 at Food Lion. The mulch was one bag from Lowe's. It had a hole in it so she sold it to me for $1.34. 2 bags of topsoil for $2.50, and 22 edger stones at 82c each. So for basically $30 I made myself a garden.
The log was in our neighbor Amy's front yard for a year. She gave it to Wolf, who put it in the back yard. I heaved it end over end all the way until I got it up by the mailbox, then had Josiah help me set it in place.
I'm pooped, and I haven't folded laundry (3 loads) or made dinner yet. The bean soup I cooked all day didn't get done. I'm thinking of making a pan of meat chili and letting the kids have chili dogs and Mac n cheese.
