so long beach has decided to keep its homeless in a hospital that was shut down due to not being earthquake safe. with the amount they’re paying, they would be able to afford 10 two bedroom apartments year round with double rooms and one bunk. and not even shitty apartments, that amount will get you a renovated 1000-1500 square foot place near the beach with cash to spare for groceries and essentials. we clearly have the budget to house these people more permanently, but nooooo don’t treat them like people don’t give them an apartment house them in a communal setting in a hospital with 5 stories that could collapse on them with the slightest shake
