So this is Brad Bankston. The owner of @austinbookscomics I’ve been going there since ‘92 and Brad bought the store in ‘94 and made it even better than I would’ve thought possible. He’s not in-store much anymore so I haven’t seen or talked to him in a loooong time. I wasn’t happy to finally see him again cause he’s a good man and I got a rush of memories from the ‘90s of my Dad taking me to buy comics and watching his Dad talk to mine. Great memories that I’ll cherish forever. New comic book spec grab coming in June 2021

New Captain America iteration Aaron Fischer will be marvel’s first openly gay core character.

Before anyone goes nuts, he’s not “replacing” Steve. There have been over twenty people who took on the role of Cap, including Jeffrey Mace, John Walker, and Sam Wilson. Cap’s been black, female, what have you. So people getting angry about PC culture don’t understand Captain America’s 80 year history. It was controversial when Isaiah Bradley took up the mantle and those people can shut up too.

Basically, Aaron Fischer will be to Cap as Miles Morales is to Spidey.

But this is a first appearance in a core Marvel property, so even if you don’t usually collect comics, this is going to be a cover you want to snag. Comic books are a better investment than stocks. First prints of this cover will be valuable. Plus, if this series sells well, that means they WILL make more and your issue will be worth more.

Support small business and hit up your local comic book store. Tell them you want to subscribe to June’s Captain America, and they will set aside issues for you when they come in. Subscriptions are FREE to reserve at most LCBS.

Last note, do not feel the need to slab your issues yet, but please make sure you bag and board.
