Oh, and finally, some of you may be aware that a protestor tried to burn the Union Jack on the cenotaph yesterday.

Please don’t share any photos of this. Several right wing groups are looking for him, and have issued death threads- and we all know that unfortunately the may well follow through.

We also know that they won’t care much about mistaken identity. I honestly feel that in this case, censoring it is not enough.

If you see someone sharing the photo please message them and ask them to take it down.

And if you care about a flag more than someone’s life, honestly, you can fuck the fuck off.

Some information I gathered for an Instagram post

So I haven't seen anything on here yet bc the UK media isn't covering it basically at all but protestors were once again kettled by the met outside downing Street last night for over 4 hours (until around half 1 if not later) - a group which was predominantly teenagers and young adults particularly vulnerable to being out late since when escorting them out pairs and groups were forced to be separated, with the police closing on on them constantly forcing them to break social distancing (with the majority of the protestors having been rained on) AND waiting until most public transport had closed before allowing them out AND asking for information and numbers and pictures to identify the protestors without having any reason to believe crimes had been committed because once again it was the police who started any violence (please check out the London BLM Twitter or Instagram for more info) but also be careful if you're protesting this week especially in London bc the met are once again showing that they're a trans organisation who don't care about the lives of Londoners, especially black Londoners

Growing up, I always struggled to see myself in characters on my screen and in my books. Whilst in films and tv I could actively see that I didn’t look like anyone, books were my refuge. I saw myself as Hermione with the frizzy brown hair and felt such a strong connection with her love of books.

But I still wasn’t fairly represented. Very few of my children’s books showed pictures of children who looked like me and my family.

The books at the end are not only for fair representation of race but of sexuality and disabilities, I would highly recommend!

Further thoughts on kettling- it sounds like tonight the met police have used lots of small kettles. 

Last night, legal observers stayed in the kettle until the end, telling people their rights and supporting them in not complying with the illegal use of section 50.

Have they deliberately attempted to cut people off from legal observers tonight?

If the police ask for your name/details on leaving the kettle, ask “what power?”. If they say section 50, they have to have suspicion that you specifically have committed an act of anti-social behaviour, so ask “What have I done as an individual?”- if you are able, make a recording of what the police say.
