*squinty eyes* right so I just finished Divergent and um to be honest I'm not quite sure if I yet see what the big deal is. I mean like yes I like/d the story and am interested and do want to read/finish the other two books but seriously 95% of that book is about swapping factions and training. I feel like the actual story only just started in the last 50 pages or so. Which I mean yeah I get it's a trilogy but also I shouldn't have to read 400 pages of essentially prologue? I don't know I just feel like everything was just sort of this flat stagnant line and then oh look suddenly we're going to war and then ah imagine that everything works out perfectly so we can escape and ride off into the sunset of the next book. It just feels kind of anticlimactic. None of the "plot twists" felt much like plot twists. At the end even when Tris is like "aha they're at the Dauntless compound!" I was like "wasn't that already established?" and then realized nah it was just my guessing. But I mean what else would the main lady have been talking about on the phone. Not sure if I've read too many YA books to be surprised or if this particular story is just that predictable. Iiiiiii don't know, my hope is now that stuff is actually happening the next/last two books will be more interesting with all the exposition out of the way. I'm in this world I'm on board now let's do something exiting.
