An American New Year in China : Munich
We landed in Munich after 8pm and took the S-Bahn into the city in some pretty serious rain. We had no interest in searching for food and getting soaked, so we voted to go to bed early and wake up early for our platinum breakfast buffet at the Le Meridien. If you've been following our travels and our breakfasts, you know that there is nothing better than a Le Meridien breakfast buffet.
(the lighting is obviously way better in the buffet room than it is in the dining room)
After breakfast, we braved the inclement weather and went to the Neue Pinakothek, one of several affiliated art museums in Munich.
After the museum, we searched and searched, in the rain, for a place to get some traditional German sausage and maybe a beer. Schiller Cafe was around the block from our hotel so we tried it out. Currywurst was great and the grilled red wurst, fries, potato salad and Spaten were good too.
And just like that, we were on the move again.
