The Long Ballad 1-18

Me watching The Long Ballad 

(Spoilers ahead) 

I’ve seen the original manhua fans comment about how it strayed from the original source work, how Ah Sun found out about Chang Ge being a girl far too soon, etc. 

I admit, I started watching this by just seeing Zhao Lusi in one scene and her CP感 with Liu Yuning was amazing. But... after fast fowarding through 18 episodes, can  I just say I am not at all happy with how things are moving? 

And how all of a sudden it is revealed that all along Shu Yu liked Chang Ge... I just didn’t see that coming. 

Hao Du had not been searching for Le Yan the entire time, it seemed to me at least... Because he was busy chasing Chang Ge around. That obsession with killing her was a bit tiring to watch... Is he really the mindless, robot-like killing machine who only follows orders without a second thought?? After not searching for Le Yan, he’s suddenly very worried about Le Yan and was lashing out at the officials in Yunzhou... Emm... This is honestly the scriptwriter and director’s fault though... I just feel as though.. no one actually cares about Le Yan in that sequence where the two are in Yunzhou, supposedly (finally!!) searching for Le Yan. I honestly can’t believe this is how they (guards, officials and the royal family) treat a princess... 

There are actually a lot of viewers who are watching it just for Hao Du x Le Yan but that pitiful amount of screentime...  

(The political drama... I tune in and out of it while doing other stuff. I sometimes like how they discuss the strategies and whatnot but it drags out quite a lot)
