Welcome back, baby!
Knowing it would be best to avoid his father, Olivier still went straight to the man’s room and stood outside the door trying to think of a good excuse to be here. Something like ‘hey, let’s have a drink since we’re from the same area’ or ‘hi i’m actually your son and you will be conceiving me soon.’ It shouldn’t be this hard, especially considering the camaraderie among almost everyone here during this era. Olivier looked down to sigh, but didn’t realize he was standing close enough to the door to knock his head on it. “Ow...” he said rubbing it, hoping against all hope that no one was in there. @le-voleur
After going through several dead ends, Inspector Wilson found his way into an offbeat shop. One that seemed like it should be tucked away in some seedy dark alley and for some reason would only show up in the middle of the night. What he was trying to find here? Well, his clients had been robbed and they wanted him to find the thief and bring the bastard down.
So he agreed because Inspector Wilson would do anything for money, if he felt like it.
Walking around the shop, he touched several baubles just to see if they moved or did anything interesting. One particularly shiny object was a beautiful music box. Wade picked it up and turned it around a few times before opening it to hear it play. After a few seconds, he snapped the lid shut and continued wandering the shop. “Hello?” he called out, “I’m looking for something specific… I wonder if anyone could help me?” @le-voleur

From the bay window, Rebecca watches the sun disappearing behind the trees. The bayou is alive with the sound of crickets and other critters in the muggy summer night air, like they don’t know that night is quickly falling. Rebecca wants to be with them, running free outside with no shoes on and Olivier chasing her but never being able to catch her when she soars just out of his reach. But bedtime was nearly half an hour ago and Papa was being kind enough to let her stay up this long.
“Dodo, l'enfant do,L'enfant dormira bien viteDodo, l'enfant doL'enfant dormira bientôt.”
Rebecca sang softly along with her father, brushing her doll’s hair as he brushed her own. He chuckles softly, pausing to correct her pronunciation. She looks back at him when he tilts her chin with a gentle hand so that he can press a kiss to her forehead before continuing. She tries again, “Tout le monde est sage...” His hum in approval makes her beam with pride.
