The bee bachelor pad. That’s what I call an old split log I drilled holes in years ago. It sits in a sheltered, shady location and strangely only attracts male leafcutter and mason bees. Male leafcutter bee. As with other male bees, which often have facial hair, he sports a fetching moustache. Also note the mitten-like fuzz on his forelegs. Male leafcutters are known to place these furry feet over a female's eyes while mating.
