Sky hadn’t noticed when it started,it just eased itself into his life. It’s not like he use the Master Sword to cut, she wouldn’t have let him. But letting the blade sink into his thumb when he was cutting wood, scratching his neck until it bled, mirroring that action on the make of the Triforce on his hand. Though he was quick to patch the damage up.
He feels the warm liquid seep down into his proud green tunic, why did it have to be proud, why should he be proud to have put these children through hell. He digs into his hand, wincing at the pain for once.
Tears well up in his eyes, why? How dare they, how dare the first hero be so weak.
More blood drips from the base of his neck. Suddenly his feels a cool brush on the cuts his sucks in a sharp breath, just a breeze.
“What the hell are you doing, Kid?” The Captain sighs out not disappointed but worried. Warriors kneels in front of Sky, gently taking his hand, he brings Sky’s hand to his forehead before releasing it “stay right here, don’t get any ideas”
Wars squeezed Sky’s knee before getting up and walking over the Wild’s sleeping bag ‘hey’ Sky hears him say ‘hey, can I have some chu chu jelly?’ Followed by Wild groaning and an unnatural blue light turning on, then some chu chu jelly and a healing potion ‘I don’t wanna know who’s hurt, but tell them I hope they get better’ Wild turns the slate off and rolls over, seeing Sky he recognizes the guilty look on Sky’s face “Sky? Did you… oh Hylia” he sits up “fuck nevermind I’ll help” he throws the blanket up.
Wars walks over with Wild, “take your tunic off” Wars instructs.
When the cloth is removed, Wild takes it along with the jelly “I’ll clean this”
Wars nods and hands Sky the healing potion, then grabbing a clean rag and his water pouring some on the soft cloth, “I’m gonna clean this now, okay?”
Sky nods, then he feels the string, Captain squeezes his shoulder, continuing to clean.
Once his neck is cleaned and dried off Wars wraps it in gauze, then he sits in front, taking Sky’s hand again, a new rag in hand “do you wanna talk about it?”
Sky’s lips press together “I think I should”
“Only if you’re comfortable”
Wars begins cleaning again “I’m sorry” Sky blurts out.
“You gave nothing to be sorry for” Warriors gently reaching out and squeezing his other hand then returning to the injured.
“No” Sky slumped “I started all of this, gods if I hadn’t been so slow none of you would have fight as children”
Wars drys his hand and wraps it, letting Sky’s words sit. “It’s not your fault” Wars tears the tape and finishes the wrap, “I know it sounds cliche, but what ever happened, it was bound to happen”
“If I’d fought him faster he wouldn’t have been able to curse us”
“No matter how fast you were, who ever he is, would still have the same goal and outcome” Wars cups Sky’s cheek, “plus he laid the curse, not you”
Sky leans into the touch, the touch soothing, he missed touch. Wars smiled internally patting himself on the back for accurately guess what would comfort Sky. “Hug?” Wars opens his arms, Sky flops on him, sobbing into the other’s shoulder. Wars rubbing circles on Sky’s back. That’s when they both feel a blanket around them, Wild ruffling Sky’s hair, not expecting an explanation, he retracts his hand and goes back to his sleeping bag.
Sky had slept in his brother’s arms, safe, comfortable.
In the morning Wild made tea for everyone, but Sky knew it was for him, neither Wars nor Wild mentioned the night before. Sky’s tunic had been cleaned, dried, and folded placed neatly at his side by Wild probably.
Sky puts the tunic on, throwing his sail cloth over his shoulders, mimicking Zelda’s excited hugs. He sips the tea and eats. Wars leans on him back to back talking with Time about plans. Wilds comes up and gives Sky more food.
