Fleetwood Town (0) v. AFC Wimbledon (0)
18 Feb 2025 - Matchday 25 (Rescheduled from Jan 4)
Rough game today y'all. We drew Fleetwood away, missing out on two points that we definitely should've taken. If anything, we were lucky to walk away with one. We never really had a good run, and a slew of last minute substitutions didn't change anything.
That said, we remain unbeaten since before Christmas. We're still second in the table with a game in hand over the third place team.
This Saturday we'll be playing Colchester (away); fingers crossed for a more positive game recap.
Like goldfish, we carry on.
i've just seen this on twitter and it's reaaallly pissed me off. 1) football is more than just a sport to us footie fans 2) let people enjoy what they want to enjoy ffs 3) it definitely isn't just boys who are obsessed with football, i'm a girl and i speak to more female fans than male fans. why is it so difficult to mind your own business? don't like football? fine, but you don't need to brag about it 💁🏻♀️
I know most of football tumblr won’t care as they mostly follow top flight football but
One of the teams in league one has just been kicked out the football league and possibly disbanded as a club, all because the EFL refused to check whether the buyer of the club had enough money to buy them free of their debts.
134 years that clubs been around. 134 years. In two weeks time, the same will probably happen to Bolton, who were one of the founders of the football league.
Within two weeks, two clubs with a combined 279 years of history in English football will cease to exist, one of them might as well already not. More should be done about this. Stop letting our small teams get destroyed and their history destroyed.
My own bloody club is 141 years old and is constantly, constantly at risk of dying. For lower league clubs, this doesn’t just mean jobs at football going, it means fish and chip shop jobs going, it mean corner shops going bust, merchandise places.
Our smaller league clubs are everything to us, it’s our communities. our homes. and money within football is forever trying to take that away.
Rest in peace, Bury FC.
28/08/19 edit: Bolton has managed to be saved!!

me watching someone talk shit about one of my favourite footballers and trying not to snap at them
honestly i have no idea what i'd do without football. it's such a huge part of my life. i don't support a premier league team and i don't get to go to massive stadiums all of the time but getting to watch my local team play every week makes me the happiest. it doesn't matter what team you support, all football fans can agree that it's more than just a sport to us. people used to make fun of me at school for liking football but it's something that makes me happy and i haven't let them take that away from me. if it makes you happy then fuck what people think.
