𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 where the afternoon sun peppered kisses against freckles and delicate ink. Leah squinted against the sunlight to make out the words on the pages of her book — a tattered thing borrowed from the library. Moments like this felt rare. Precious. The peaceful quiet of summer; grasshoppers rustling deep in their secret world within the foliage ... the nostalgic song of a mourning dove perched in a nearby tree ... and a boy far sweeter than he had any right to be lay beside her on the grass.
Her eyes slowly followed his fingers as he absentmindedly traced shapes against her arm, joining pigment constellations and following the shape of the recently healed tattoo she had treated herself to. His fingers warm and steady, leaving a path of goosebumps where he touched and sending the most pleasant of shivers up her spine.
❛ Tickles, ❜ a soft chuckle escaped through a slow, dreamy exhale. She turned to Seven then, taking in the details of his soft, green eyes and the slope of his pointed nose. ❛ I might fall asleep if you keep doing that, ❜ she grinned, eyes already half-lidded as her arm twisted under his hand, providing a new, untouched patch of skin for him to touch. The last thing she wanted was for him to stop.
