Just randomly started listening to my LeakyCon playlist and now I'm crying from feels and missing everyone and I want it to be summer and time for Leaky 2014 already

The big giant leaky feels post by Devina.

So I've been avoiding typing this for almost a week now because I don't even know what I plan to say but I just got hit with all the feels so here goes. Under a read more because it's going to get extensive and because it'll be cheesy as hell.

Leakycon was the best thing I could ever hope to have done in my life. Not only did I get to take a road trip with two of my best friends in the entire world, but at the end of the first half of that road trip was this magical event that we all got to go to.

An event I've sat at home crying about not being able to attend for three years straight. Walking into the Portland convention center last Thursday morning was the best feeling. One I can't even begin to describe to someone who has never felt it. It was accomplishment and overwhelming happiness and the feeling of belonging all at once. Confession, I almost went to Chicago but then couldn't rationalize spending the absolute last of my money on travel and hotel and convention tickets at the time. (A decision I regret now.)

I grew up with Potter. When I was 6 or 7 my parents bought me GoF for christmas not realizing it was the 4th in a series. And when I was 8 I started reading the series from the start.

Fast forward 12 years (I don't even want to believe it. Nope, not that old, can't be.) and I finally got my dream. That was the closest I'll ever come to going to Hogwarts, and it was pretty damn close. Moving stairs (known to muggles as escalators) by the dozen, walking around with butterbeer, seeing the house colours everywhere. The OCC was truly my Hogwarts for that weekend.  But more than that, it wasn't completely the Potter element that made it everything it was to me. 

RENT was kind of my gateway musical. It's what got me interested in stage and even as a whole the musical genre. Seeing (and later meeting) Anthony Rapp was kind of a dream come true. Different than wanting to go to that childhood escape, but a dream all the same.

And Dominic Barnes from Glee means more to me than I can even get into here, and meeting him and telling him why on Sunday was something I'd only dreamed about.

Last but not least, I had given up the notion of ever seeing Starkid live. Ever. Living in Vegas has its perks occasionally, but it seems to be some sort of desert island (well, not entirely false) when it comes to people I want to see actually performing here. Suddenly being able to see them perform and singing along with an entire room full of people and watching their antics really hit home that "Yes, I'm doing this. This is where I'm at right now and I am fully awake." 

So thanks to Melissa, and staff and everybody ever for making it such a wonderful experience for me. And thanks to the god of crazy random happenstance for setting up just the right amount of circumstance for the trip to have taken place.

And Leaky, I have but one thing left to say. Mischief Managed

Like for reals guys LeakyCon has been such a surreal experience.  My second Leaky and I was a volunteer and one of my friends won LeakyStars and we acted as bodyguards for some Starkids (Joe Walker, Joe Moses, Clark Baxtresser, Nick Strauss and Tessa Netting) on the train.  We talked to Pat Brady and did a favor for her and just OMG everything was fantastic and wonderful and I'm so sad it's all over.

Lizzie Bennet Diaries

so I literally just marathoned the ENTIRE Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Just finished riiiiggghhhhtttt now.  And by the ENTIRE thing I do mean all the videos from Lydia Bennet, Maria Lu and Pemberly, all in about 15 hours...... I think I need sleep. But I'm way too keyed up and I don't wanna.

 But I will say that LBD was freaking amazing and i have no clue as to why I put off watching it for SO LONG.  I mean I MET THEM AT LEAKYCON, and yet.... i only watched the first vlog and subscribed saying i'll watch them some other time.  Then I kept seeing gifs all over the place and I decided to finally woman up and sat down and watched it in its entirety.  With breaks of course. And now I'm even MORE EXCITED ABOUT LEAKYCON CAUSE THEY WILL BE THERE!  

So yeah, I want to say something all nice and profound about the series right now but I'm also kinda delirious from watching something for 15 hours straight and methinks I should go to sleep soon before I do something stupid.  So I'll leave my rambling at this and say something profound when I can think straight.  So TA!
