Welcoming the new decade! So actually this was a WIP from 2018 -- neglected so long that it was dusted in the folders xD And since we’re in quarantine now, I had more time to do things like this again. Making this piece was super relaxing, plus I had the song played over and over when I’m making it. Honestly I’m a bit thankful that we have to stay home a lot more than ever, cause idk the last time I’ve ever relaxed lol. But good Lord, I hope the pandemic ends soon so we can go out again ((when necessary)) without being stressed and worried all the time.

PETUNIA & TRAYA

February 2019

Meet Petunia & Traya, the main characters of ‘E-Motions: Plastic Fantastic’. E-Motions is a biannual dancical (dance/musical) by Gigi Art of Dance, and the 2019 theme was ‘Plastic Fantastic’. It tells a story of a young girl named Traya, who lived in a plastic-made city called Toxicity. On her 10th birthday, she received Petunia, a robot companion who eventually leads her to see how plastic has helped humanity but also destroying their lives at the same time.

Being a part of it, I was truly inspired by the story and the characters (BTW there are many more great characters from the show, but I haven’t had the time to draw them all X”D). And this musical has also changed my lifestyle big-time, because everytime you’re going to rehearsal, it felt like you get more and more educated about this specific issue. Everytime.

OTTER SPACE

So, after Arrietty, I began to use more watercolor than ever. Also, tis’ the inktober season. Though I’m not sure if watercolor counts as ink, I practiced combining it with drawing pens. In the end, most of my watercolors still needed to be digitally enhanced so I thank you, technology.

Made this for an online contest themed floral watercolor. I can’t remember when the last time I used watercolor, but it’s always worth giving a shot. And, I just recently finished working in Jakarta’s Studio Ghibli exhibition, specifically in the Arrietty area, so I can’t think of anything else other than my girl Arrietty. You know how the movie is so packed with all sorts of beautiful plants and flowers <3

Made with love for my bestfriend’s birthday~ We’re both Percy Jackson geeks and she used to claim herself as a demigod of Zeus. Yet lately she spent most of her time with her mermaid fin in MY godly daddy’s territory *shrugs*. This might just be the closest illustration of what happens to her everytime.

Overwatch is all over the place right now. I’m not a player, but I like the characters cause they’re just so good. So, here’s me trying to be Symmetra LOL. T’was a pretty fun practice, despite the fact that I still struggled a lot with the tracking in PFTrack. As with AE, we’ve become closer friends.

ATALANTA

November 2016

About five years ago, I joined a short animation course during my holiday. I created a story about this character I called ‘Atalanta’. Her story was heavily influenced by the Ancient Greek tales about the goddess Artemis, mixed up with a tiny bit of Percy Jackson stuff. A few months ago, I looked at it again and there was this urge to adjust and remake the whole animation, this time in 3D #BecozICanYo. It’s just fascinating to witness how much you’ve grown over the years, makes you wonder of more possibilities to discover, yaas?

EXAGGERATE

Meet muh friend Clarissa. Exaggerating her face expressions was fun because she’s got the best and the most fluid face expressions ever. That’s why (aside of the nose), I emphasized the shape shifts of the face, because it really does change a lot along with the movements of the mouth.
