Revasan Lavellan
Revasan appreciates when those around him signal their trust in him. Despite his general emotional stoicism, particularly in high pressure situations, he’s actually a pretty open book in private conversation and is willing to open up and share his feelings with those he trusts. As a natural extrovert, he actually thrives on the ability to communicate his emotions and to share and even debate his concerns and ideas, and he will even search it out at times. He is very sensitive, it’s just well-hidden and very few people get to see this side of him. In the end, being a good listener is great, but sharing your own insecurities, fears, and ideas with him, the way he is willing to share with you, means a GREAT deal to him. If you confide in him, he will be your friend forever.
Leanathy
Lea’s love languages have changed a lot over the course of her massively long and eventful life so far. When she was young, and just married to Marin, Solas’s father, she was deeply beholden to him romantically, and anything he did to communicate his simple appreciation of her would make her weak and thankful. She liked hearts and flowers, magic tricks. She was a sucker for his intelligence and his easy charm. After Solas was born, his attentiveness to her as a human that he loved and needed, independent of her identity as a “mother” also drew her deeply. She did not need much when she was happy. A little like Sene, she was easy to please.
After Marin died, and as she got older, Lea became very difficult to communicate with, but what she appreciated were Solas’s acknowledgments of her as an emotional individual, and not just, again, as a mother. She hid much of her emotional distress from Solas, but as an empathetic child and a sensitive young man (despite his bluster), he always made it a point to ask her if she was okay and to reassure her that he was okay. He also took care of her emotionally in ways he instinctively knew she needed, which were leftover from his father. Magic tricks, butterflies, all these things that sort of hurt her but also reassured her deeply that Marin was not fully dead, that he still lived in some way, through Solas, their creation. Solas did these things on purpose, with the goal of comforting her. They weren’t the most touchy-feely of mother/son duos growing up, but they did their best.
